I poeti son poeti perche' scrivono poesie
fanno a gara nei concorsi dove vincono bugie
quei concorsi col salame, con la medaglietta d'oro
hanno il vizio di spiegarti che i poeti sono loro.
Il poeta e' un uomo stanco che si sveglia a mezzogiorno
che si affaccia dal balcone e si guarda appena intorno
insicuro e sempre incerto si trascina alla sua tana
caffelatte con le uova che la mamma gli prepara.
I poeti son dei matti che non pagano il pedaggio
fanno finta di capire quando scrivono "coraggio"
ma se c'e' da far la guerra il poeta e' giu' in cantina
fa l'amore con la serva e si scopa la regina.
Il poeta ha dei segreti che non dice con nessuno
sono formule di sogno che gli fan vendere fumo
con quell'aria un po' sorniona, privilegio dell'artista
ama i gatti, beve vino, scorda il conto del dentista.
I poeti sono il sole che riscalda le speranze
della gente disperata che si nutre di bestemmie
i poeti sono il mare che circonda tutto quanto
ma han la pelle troppo chiara e non fanno piu' di un tanto.

fanno a gara nei concorsi dove vincono bugie
quei concorsi col diploma, coi discorsi culturali
dove vincono il diritto di non essere normali
