'american Idol' Kris Allen Heads To Disney World
One of the first things that Kris Allen, the new "American Idol," did after winning the title was look into a TV camera and shout, "I'm going to Disney World!" This week, he made good on his promise, joining Mickey Mouse for a victory parade and serenading Mickey's gal pal, Minnie, prior to joining a gala celebration at the theme park's "American Idol Experience" attraction. "It feels good, but it hasn't completely sunk in yet," Kris told the audience. Thousands of fans turned out for Kris' celebratory day, as did his wife, Katy. By starring in the Disney commercial, Kris joins a line-up of superstar professional athletes and heroes who have shouted the famous "I'm Going to Disney World" line. He is the second singer ever -- the first was last year's "American idol" David Cook -- to star in the Disney commercial in its 23-year history. "The American Idol Experience" at Walt Disney World Resort -- which had its grand opening this past February 2009 -- is the first major theme park attraction in the world based on the hit TV series.[Read full story on The Insider]

Newly crowned "American Idol" Kris Allen was snapped outside the Nokia Theater after Wednesday night's season finale -- and the "Idol" champion was shouting the famous words "I'm going to Disney World!" Kris was filming a TV commercial to promote Walt Disney World's new attraction "American Idol Experience," the new AI themed attraction that opened this past February at Disney's Hollywood Studios. In the attraction, Disney guests are able to experience all the excitement of the television show -- whether they are auditioning for a Disney producer, performing on stage in front of a crowd, or voting for their favorite performance from their audience seats. Kris is only the second non-athlete in Disney's "What Are You Going To Do Next?" campaign history to appear in the iconic commercial and his voice also will be featured throughout the ad as he performs the classic Disney song, "When You Wish Upon A Star."[Read full story on The Insider]
