Graduated from Brown University in 1988. Originally did not want to cast Scott Wolf in Go (1999) because Katie Holmes was already in the movie, and he did not want the movie to star two TV actors. However, he saw him talking in a hallway with Jay Mohr and realized that the chemistry between the two would be good in the movie. Graduated in same high school class with actor/director Charles Herman-Wurmfeld. Doug Liman's father, Arthur L. Liman, was one of the prosecutors in the Iran-Contra Affair. (in the Bourne Identity Liman portrays a likewise agency within agency...) One of 105 people invited to join AMPAS in 2008.
