Get ready for more glitter and glitz when "Dancing with the Stars" premieres its new season Monday night with more contestants than ever before competing for the disco-ball trophy! Two of those in the new cast of twinkletoes are "Entourage" star Debi Mazar and "Iron Chef America"'s Chairman Mark Dacascos, who tell us that they are almost ready -- but not quite. "I don't have my spray tan yet so I am not ready," Debi jokes. Each of the couples will be required to perform one complete dance and then take part in a relay dance with three other teams. The men dance on Monday; the women on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday, two couples will be sent home during the results show. One of Debi's two dances is the foxtrot, which she calls "a cruel and sadistic dance for a woman" because of the posture it requires. But, in order to make it work, she says, "I am trying to get my inner princess to come out. I don't know if I have a princess. I have a queen." Meanwhile, Mark is having a hard time adjusting to wearing the men's dance shoes, which have Cuban heels. "These heels are tapered and have no ankle support. It is difficult," he says. And while we are on the topic of dancewear, even though Debi will be glowing as a result of her spray tan, she says she won't go too revealing: " I have had a couple of children and I haven't been to the gym in a couple of years since I had my last child. I am not used to showing off my tummy or my thighs, so instead of worrying about it, I am just [going to] represent my age. If I have a little jiggle going on, 'Hey, I am a woman. I am not 21.'" Mark's dance will be the cha cha cha, but he reveals that his partner, Lacey Schwimmer, has added some kung fu moves in homage to the numerous karate and kung fu championships he has won. Becoming a "Dancing with the Stars" competitor requires a lot of hard work, but in addition to learning how to foxtrot, waltz and quickstep, the stars also gain a little personal insight. For Debi, who is partnered with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, she says she has realized, "I talk too much. I need to shut up, listen and be quiet. That is my big lesson. Also, you have to own it, so it is giving me a new self-confidence." And for Mark, he says, "Lacey keeps telling me I need to stop thinking and just do it." "Dancing with the Stars" premieres Monday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
