Redmond O'Neal, the son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal, has been transferred from a Los Angeles jail to a correctional facility to begin a year-long intensive drug treatment program. "The Insider" has learned that O'Neal, 24, was moved to a Santa Clarita County, Calif. facility on Wednesday. "Apparently a judge wouldn't let him enter private rehab," L.A. sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore tells People.com of the news. "He'll be in this new jail location but will be in a program there designed for addicts to get off drugs." O'Neal, who was seen visiting his ailing mother in her documentary which aired last Friday, has spent nearly one month in the downtown Los Angeles facility. O'Neal was most recently arrested in early April on suspicion of bringing drugs into in the parking lot of a Santa Clarita-area detention center.
