Carrie Underwood To Sing New 'idol' Farewell Song

As "Idol" hopefuls find out they've been sent home this season on "American Idol," they'll be listening to "Idol" champ Carrie Underwood "The Insider" has learned that Carrie's remake of Mötley Crüe's "Home Sweet Home" will be the new farewell song played on the weekly results show after a contestant gets the bad news that he or she has been sent home. Other songs played during the contestants' farewell include Daniel Powter's "Bad Day," Ruben Studdard's rendition of "Celebrate Me Home," and Daughtry's "Home." Carrie's "Home Sweet Home" will debut on "Idol"'s elimination show this Wednesday. The song will be available for download through iTunes until March 16 and through retailers after that. A portion of the song's proceeds will go to The Humane Society of the United States, a cause close to Carrie's heart. You can catch "American Idol" Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. and Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. on FOX.
