Kelis is demanding Nas funds stem cell storage for their baby. The "Milkshake" singer filed for divorce from the rapper in May, citing "irreconcilable differences", and legal documents show she has made a string of requests for their unborn child from her spouse of four years.

A letter to Nas' lawyer, Mark Kaplan, from Kelis' representative claims the singer needs money to buy storage space "to bank the baby's blood when he is born. The banking is the collection and storage of the stem cells found in the baby's umbilical cord".
