Tito Jackson's Update On Michael Jackson's Children
In day two of our exclusive interview with Tito Jackson, the older brother of Michael Jackson talks about the late King of Pop's children, Prince, Paris and Blanket; their potential fate; and their new life with grandmother Katherine Jackson. "I am pretty sure my mom loves it all because she loves having her family around her," Tito tells our Flo Anthony. "And she has plenty of help there with the other butlers and housekeepers and what have you. I think it is going to be a great thing for her." Asked if he thinks the 79-year-old Katherine's advanced age will have any bearing on whether or not she can physically take care of the children, he replies, "My mom has a great spirit and she is young at heart and she is young in health. She will be just fine. We keep her going and that is great for her as well." With rampant speculation in the media that Omer Bhatti is Michael's fourth child, Tito remains tight-lipped. Omer lived on the Neverland Ranch compound with his family and reportedly called Michael his father, with Michael reportedly calling him his son. At the King of Pop's funeral, Omer sat front-and-center with the Jackson clan. Is the young man really Michael's secret son? "I am not familiar with that at this time, but I am going to be checking on that when I get home," says Tito. During our interview, the older Jackson brother was in Jamaica to accept a Lifetime Achievement Award on Michael's behalf at the 17th Annual Reggae Sumfest. Tito and the Funk Brothers Band also performed at the five-star resort Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall in Montego Bay. Regarding speculation that Pia Bhatti, Omer's mom, could be the mother of Blanket, Tito defers, "I don't know. It is all hearsay, so I think until you really know it is all just speculations and assumptions." Tito is also forthright about rumors surrounding the legitimacy of Michael's children and how he may not be the biological father, saying, "I think [the rumors are] small minded. I think it sells newspapers. Some people like this kind of thing. They need to leave well enough alone."
