Katie Holmes Can Dance!
Katie Holmes helped "So You Think You Can Dance" celebrate 100 episodes by performing a song-and-dance homage to Judy Garland Read on for the recap! Stepping out of a vintage car and strutting down a lamp-lit street in an elegant white dress, Katie sang Garland's classic tune "Get Happy." Midway through the routine, both Katie's costume and the scene changed -- she reemerged on a dark stage with a sky backdrop in a sexy black skirt and high heels, and accompanied by a gaggle of male dancers. After her eye-catching performance, "SYTYCD" co-creator Nigel Lythgoe thanked Katie for "working so hard in that routine and donating her fee to the Dizzy Feet Foundation." He also pointed out that Garland's son Joe Luft was in the audience watching. "I like to sing and dance so this has been really fun," Katie said in an interview prior to the performance. Katie teamed up with Nigel, "DWTS" judge Carrie Ann Inaba and director and choreographer Adam Shankman to create the Dizzy Feet Foundation, which strives to provide assistance to talented, underprivileged youth to help them realize their dreams of becoming professional dancers, and create awareness about the positive impact that dance can have on the growth and development of the nation's youth.[Read full story on The Insider]
