"The Insider" confirms that Natalie Portman is going the big-screen superhero route, playing the love interest of a Marvel Comics mainstay. Read on for the reveal! The 'Star Wars' prequel trilogy and 'V for Vendetta' star will play the character of Jane Foster in 'Thor' opposite Chris Hemsworth ('Star Trek'), who has been cast as the mighty Thunder God cast down to Earth from the realm of Asgard. In the comic book, Foster is a nurse who becomes Thor's first love. Scheduled to film early next year for a May 2011 release -- with Kenneth Branagh directing -- 'Thor' finds the arrogant Norse warrior forced to live among humans as punishment after reigniting an ancient war in his world. His true mettle is put to the test when a villainous foe sends dark forces from Asgard to invade Earth. Brit actor Tom Hiddleston will play the villain Loki.
