Senator Kennedy Asks State To Expedite Replacement Process
Sen. Edward M. Kennedy has sent a letter to state leaders asking for an expedited process to fill his seat in Congress. Kennedy who is battling brain cancer, sent a letter to Massachusetts leaders asking that they change the current state law in order to allow a speedy replacement of his seat in Congress, the Associated Press reports. "It is vital for this commonwealth to have two voices speaking for the needs of its citizens and two votes in the Senate," Kennedy writes in a letter sent on Tuesday. According to the AP, Kennedy was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in May of 2008, but his aides insist that despite the letter, there is no material change in his condition.[Read full story on The Insider]
