Reality star Kate Gosselin speaks out in her first TV interview since her separation from her husband Jon Gosselin, explaining why she's still wearing her wedding ring. The "Jon & Kate Plus 8" mom brushes away the tears as she explains to "Today" show host Meredith Vieira that she's wearing her ring for her kids. “I don’t want to upset them. ... I just feel that is the best thing for them, to walk slowly through it.” She tells Vieira of her separation from Jon, “I wake up and I do feel a lot of failure. ... This is not what any mother sets out for their children. It’s necessary. It has to take place. I think I’ve turned the focus on myself. I want my children to see a mother who’s committed to her children, who’s determined, who has integrity and perseverance and never gives up. Everything I’ve done for them is out of love.” In June, Jon and Kate announced their breakup on their TLC reality show. When asked if she still loves her estranged husband, Kate replies, "“When I think back to the Jon that I knew, yes." Jon has been connected with several women since his split with Kate -- including Hailey Glassman, the daughter to the doctor that gave Kate her tummy tuck. "It's very hurtful," the mother of eight tells Vieira of Jon's behavior. "To be very honest, the most hurtful part is when his decisions directly affect our children. That's the hardest part for me."
