Russell Crowe and DAME HELEN MIRREN’s thriller STATE OF PLAY has stormed to the top of the U.K. box office in its opening weekend (25-26Apr09), with takings of $2.175 million (£1.5 million).The movie, which sees Mirren star as Crowe’s newspaper editor, knocked Reese Witherspoon’s Monsters Vs.
