Howard K. Stern's Attorney Says Case Motivated By Politics
Howard K. Stern's attorney alleges that the case against his client regarding the late Anna Nicole Smith is politically motivated and he's issued a direct challenge to California's Attorney General Jerry Brown. Brown has said publicly he thinks the prosecution will succeed in sending to jail Stern and two doctors -- Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich -- for allegedly conspiring to supply Anna Nicole Smith with prescription drugs before her death. Stern's lawyer, Steve Sadow, confirms to ET that he is now challenging Brown to a face-to-face meeting to discuss the case. "Please let AG 'Moonbeam' know that I will sit down, face-to-face with him anywhere, anytime and talk about the 'facts' of Howard's case," Sadow said. Sadow says he the case would not have been filed against him were it not for Brown's possible plans to run for governor of California. The lawyer also reiterated that Stern has no plans to negotiate a plea deal in the case. "No dismissal or trial. There will be no plea negotiations because Howard has committed no crime -- he is innocent!" Sadow also revealed that Stern is currently suffering financial hardships since he is not employed and that it may be impossible for him to find employment in the future as a result of charges leveled against him in the media.[Read full story on The Insider]
