The whispering by-lanes of Film Nagar are abuzz with hushed tones about the alleged kidnap of Mahesh Babu by the dreaded musclemen of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

There had been rumours that something was seriously amiss between Mahesh Babu and his wife Namrata Shirodkar since sometime. Namrata's sister Shilpa Shirodkar is said to have close links with the D-Company and at her behest Mahesh was given a violent warning by Dawood gang to behave properly with his wife.
