Maniratnam is making a film titled Raavana, which is a his take on the contemporary interpretation of the epic. This film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Vikram, Priyamani and others. According to the Kollywood sources, Aish plays Sita and appears in a totally deglamourised role. The film unit sources say that Aish was actually unhappy with the no-make-up role. But, she cannot say no to Mani Sir since it is he who introduced Aishwarya to the silver screen through Iruvar.
