"Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere father, Alan Panettiere, was charged with misdemeanor battery today, related to his arrest in August for allegedly assaulting his wife, Hayden's mother Leslie.   Alan was taken into custody at around 3:00 a.m. on August 11 in West Hollywood, according to a police booking report. Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told "The Insider" at the time that the victim was allegedly struck three times with an open hand. The 49-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned in October in Beverly Hills and could face up to a year in county jail if convicted. Alan and Leslie were photographed walking their dogs together in Los Angeles only hours after Alan was released from jail following his August arrest.

"The Insider" confirms the news that Shia LaBeouf will not face charges related to a recent West Hollywood car accident that left him with an injured hand. The Los Angeles District Attorney's office tells "The Insider" they are not filing charges because of insufficient evidence. LaBeouf was involved in a car accident on July 27, when his pickup truck collided with another vehicle. The actor underwent hand surgery after being injured in the crash, and his injury was written into the script of his upcoming movie, 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,' which is currently filming.
