A man accused of stealing intimate photos of Prince William and girlfriend Kate Middleton has been arrested, after he reportedly tried to sell the photos to British newspaper, The Sun, according to a front page story in the British tabloid.   Two men using false names contacted the paper, reportedly offering to sell what The Sun is calling “sexy snaps” of the Prince and girlfriend on their recent vacation in the Caribbean. The plan was foiled after the Sun turned the private frames over to London Police. The newspaper's royal correspondent met the two men and viewed more than 40 photos of the Prince and Kate on the memory card they claimed to have found in a gutter. The paper then contacted the London police.

After just six weeks, 'The Dark Knight' has now grossed 502.4 million at the domestic box office. Now, the burning question, will the 'Dark Knight' sink 'Titanic''s hold on number one? Industry observers don’t think so. The James Cameron epic  film took in over 600 million at the domestic box office. Dan Fellman, head of distribution of Warner Bros, tells the AP that he expects the caped crusader to swoop in somewhere around the $530 million mark. 'The Dark Knight' has been on track for box office glory since it hit the multi-plex. When it bowed on July 18th it had the biggest opening weekend of all time, making over $158 million. By Aug 18, the Christopher Nolan flick became the second highest grossing film of all time, surpassing the beloved first 'Star Wars' film.

Sen. John McCain held a news conference late Sunday afternoon to announce that the RNC's opening day in St. Paul, Minn., will be scaled back dramatically as Hurricane Gustav heads toward the Gulf Coast. McCain and his campaign manager Rick Davis announced that the RNC will halt most of the convention activities that were slated for Monday, except those that are absolutely necessary. McCain said "it's time to open our hearts and our wallets to those citizens who are now in the shadow of a natural disaster." Earlier Sunday, President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney canceled their plans to speak at the convention Monday night because of the hurricane. McCain, who spoke from St. Louis, said he and his VP running mate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin  had been on hurricane watch as they toured the state emergency management center in Jackson, Miss., on Sunday. McCain also reportedly chartered a jet to fly home delegates of hurricane-threatened states along the Gulf Coast. The strom is expected to make landfall as early as Monday.

Just on the heels of news that she pulled out of a Friday concert in Paris due to an illness, Amy Winehouse may be facing legal troubles due to the cancellation, says the New York Daily News.   The paper says organizers of the Rock En Seine festival announced they plan to pursue a lawsuit against the British songstress for reportedly backing out two hours before show time without giving them a reason. Winehouse’s publicist released a statement this weekend saying the singer canceled because of an illness. But festival organizers say they were not told why Winehouse wasn’t able to perform, says the paper. "We have still not been given any explanation of the exact reasons for her absence," organizers said this weekend. "We are very sorry about this situation and share the disappointment of the festival-goers."
