Former "American Idol" stars Carrie Underwood and Diana DeGarmo took a moment at Wednesday night's Country Music Awards to reflect on Paula Goodspeed, the "Idol" hopeful who apparently committed suicide near judge Paula Abdul's house Tuesday night. Do they think fans sometimes take their idols too seriously? "Nobody knows what was going on in that person's life, and nobody knows if there were things outside of her fandom that were causing her to want to end it," Carrie tells "The Insider," "so it's really hard to analyze a situation like that and know why somebody did that. The only person that knows is that person. It's very, very unfortunate." Diana, who has a country album coming soon, tells "The Insider," "To hear that something like that has happened makes you very scared as a celebrity of some sort, because we all [like to get all dressed up for events like the CMAs] -- it's all glitz and glamour -- but it's things like that that people don't normally get to know; it's also a double side of celebrity stardom. I think that's just a terrible, terrible tragedy and I feel for the person that was out in front of her home, for her family, and especially for Paula, because she's a lovely person and I can only imagine what she's going through." Runner-up Diana also performed in the same "American Idol" season with Jennifer Hudson, and says that although she has not spoken with Jennifer since her tragedy, "She's definitely in my thoughts and prayers like she always is, but even more so. Her mother was a wonderful, wonderful person, and I wouldn't even know where to begin if something like that happened to me."
