Former "American Idol" stars Carrie Underwood and Diana DeGarmo took a moment at Wednesday night's Country Music Awards to reflect on Paula Goodspeed, the "Idol" hopeful who apparently committed suicide near judge Paula Abdul's house Tuesday night. Do they think fans sometimes take their idols too seriously? "Nobody knows what was going on in that person's life, and nobody knows if there were things outside of her fandom that were causing her to want to end it," Carrie tells "The Insider," "so it's really hard to analyze a situation like that and know why somebody did that. The only person that knows is that person. It's very, very unfortunate." Diana, who has a country album coming soon, tells "The Insider," "To hear that something like that has happened makes you very scared as a celebrity of some sort, because we all [like to get all dressed up for events like the CMAs] -- it's all glitz and glamour -- but it's things like that that people don't normally get to know; it's also a double side of celebrity stardom. I think that's just a terrible, terrible tragedy and I feel for the person that was out in front of her home, for her family, and especially for Paula, because she's a lovely person and I can only imagine what she's going through." Runner-up Diana also performed in the same "American Idol" season with Jennifer Hudson, and says that although she has not spoken with Jennifer since her tragedy, "She's definitely in my thoughts and prayers like she always is, but even more so. Her mother was a wonderful, wonderful person, and I wouldn't even know where to begin if something like that happened to me."

New details on Paula Goodspeed are emerging in the wake of her apparent suicide near Paula Abdul Los Angeles home. Police are now revealing that Goodspeed had visited the "American Idol" judge's home "on multiple occasions," according to People.com. "Our station has been called to respond to Paula Abdul house on multiple occasions over the last several years concerning Ms. Goodspeed," LAPD Capt. James Miller tells the Web site. "The last time our officers had contact with Goodspeed was in July." "I can't say whether Ms. Abdul was directly harassed," the captain continues. "Ms. Goodspeed had been causing enough of a disturbance [to have police called]." There are reportedly no court records of a restraining order by Abdul against Goodspeed. Goodspeed was a former "Idol" hopeful who did not pass her audition to go to Hollywood. On her MySpace page she wrote about the apparent backlash of her harsh about the judges, saying, "It's very hard reading such awful things being written about yourself.....or hearing things being said..... not like alot of people would understand what it's like having so many haters," she wrote, "just because I made the mistake of trying out for a singing competition before I was even ready vocally, emotionally and physically."
