"The Insider" has the latest... Lindsay Lohan has taken herself out of Emmy contention for a guest appearance on "Ugly Betty" this year but will submit her name next season when she will appear in more episodes of the ABC show, the L.A. Times reports.  Lohan's rep Leslie Sloane tells the Times the actress did not submit her name in the guest star category because her appearance was very brief. "We made a decision to wait," Sloane said. Lohan's "Ugly Betty" appearance last month consisted of just four lines in a scene that lasted less than a minute as her character invited Betty Suarez (America Ferrera) to play dodge ball on her team.   The decision comes after Katherine Heigl announced last week that she was removing herself from Emmy contention for "Grey's Anatomy" because she felt she was not given material worthy of Emmy consideration.

Scott Baio became a father to an adorable baby girl named Bailey Deluca last November, but the joy of his baby's birth (with wife Renee Sloan) was soon overshadowed by fear and sadness. The TV veteran opens up on People.com about how just one day after the couple brought their baby home from the hospital, they were told she tested positive for a disorder called GA-1, which can cause seizures and even death. "It was the worst time in my life," Baio says. "Every breath that you take, every thought that you have, every moment that you're conscious, it's all you're thinking about. The disease is a constant in your brain. It never leaves you." It was a grueling 10 weeks of testing, but thankfully, the ending was a happy one. Bailey was given a clean bill of health -- the original result being a false positive. "We jumped through the ceiling," Baio recalls of receiving the good news. Despite all the stress and worry, Baio says he's glad he went through it. "This sort of thing puts everything else in perspective."

This just in... The commissioner handling the Britney Spears conservatorship granted permission for the pop star's Studio City home to be sold, according to City News Service. This follows news reports that the singer has been looking at properties in the Calabasas area, which is closer to her ex, Kevin Federline and her two sons. Following an in-chambers meeting with Brit's attorneys, Commissioner Reva Goetz also made the decision to keep an upcoming July 31 trial date, but it will be a pretrial evidentiary hearing, rather than a trial to decide whether or not to extend Britney's conservatorship. The July 31 hearing will deal with issues that she does not want to delay any further. Jamie Spears, Britney's father, and attorney Andrew Wallet are the temporary co-conservators of her estate.
