The Warner Bros comedy 'Yes Man,' starring Jim Carrey debuted at No. 1 at the box office this weekend with $18.2 million, studio estimates showed Sunday.   The film, also starring Zooey Deschanel and Terence Stamp, is the story of man whose life is going nowhere until he signs up for a self-help program based on one simple covenant: that he says "yes" to everything. Coming in second place was Will Smith's 'Seven Pounds,' which made an estimated $16 million in weekend earnings. Smith stars with Rosario Dawson and Woody Harrelson Sony's movie about an IRS agent with a fateful secret who embarks on an extraordinary journey of redemption by forever changing the lives of seven strangers. In third place was Universal Pictures' 'The Tale of Despereaux,' which made an estimated $10.5 million. The movie – featuring the voices of Matthew Broderick, Frances Conroy, Dustin Hoffman and Kevin Kline, is the story of three unlikely heroes -- a misfit mouse an unhappy rat and a bumbling servant girl -- whose fates are intertwined with that of the castle's princess. 'The Day the Earth Stood Still,' a contemporary reinvention of 20th Century Fox's 1951 sci-fi classic, took the No. 4 spot with an estimated $10.2 million. The movie stars Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, John Cleese, James Hong, Jaden Smith and Kathy Bates. Finishing No. 5 was Warner Bros' romantic comedy 'Four Christmases,' which brought in an estimated $7.7 million. The film, starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn as an unmarried couple forced to make four reluctant Christmas visits to all sets of parents, has now made $100.2 million since opening the day before Thanksgiving.

Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell is revealing more information about his son Baylee's medical condition after the six-year-old was hospitalized last week. In a personal blog post, Brian writes that Baylee was released from a hospital in Atlanta, GA on Saturday. "Before being admitted, Baylee had been treated for or thought to have had strep throat, hand, foot, mouth disease and erythema multiforme. After receiving a biopsy, blood tests, an EKG and 2 echocardiograms, Baylee was finally diagnosed with A-Typical Kawasaki Disease," Brian writes. The blog entry explains that Kawasaki Disease causes inflammation in the coronary arteries as well as the walls of small and medium sized arteries throughout the body. Baylee received a treatment to bring down the inflammation in his coronary arteries and will be closely monitored for the next 6-8 weeks to see if the treatment was effective, according to the singer. Brian and his wife Leighanne thank everyone who prayed for his son and for many supportive emails and phone calls. "We are humbled by the love and compassion that people have for our son all over the world, thank you!"

"At the end of the day, Parker is the most important thing of the year, and of my life, without question," Aiken, 30, tells People magazine. "Having a son and that type of responsibility is obviously going to be something that I remember forever." Aiken, who shot to fame after finishing as a runner-up on "American Idol"'s second season in 2003, also generated much publicity this year when he confirmed he is gay in a September interview with People. In a recent travel blog on myspace, the actor talks about his visit to Brazil to meet his "lady's family." Actor Zac Efron made Christmas come early for some young patients at a Los Angeles hospital - he delighted children by visiting their ward with some festive gifts.The High School Musical star went along to the Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA on Friday (19Dec08) to play Santa Claus by giving away $10,000 (£6,666) worth of toys.The
