The hugely popular Jonas Brothers boy band took a break from playing large venues for a more intimate concert this weekend at the elite Ross School in East Hampton NY.    In fact, it took the Jonas Brothers performance to bring warring exes Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook together to work out a to allow their kids to see the boy band.   Christie wanted to take the kids to a Jonas Brothers fundraiser on Saturday at the posh private Ross School, but it was actually Peter's weekend to have the children, the New York Daily News reports. Christie first arrived at the school with 13-year-old son Jack in tow before the show began and was even able to take him backstage to meet the young members of the boy band, the News said.  By noon, when the actual concert started, Christie left just as Peter was arriving with their daughter Sailor Lee, 10. The kids were then able to enjoy the rest of the concert with their father.

Bernie Mac wife and daughter were with the late comedian in his last moments and were able to bid him a touching goodbye, his sister-in-law tells People magazine.  Mary Ann Grossett, the sister of Mac's wife Rhonda, spoke to the magazine about the final moments before the 50-year-old entertainer died. "He opened his eyes on his own and looked at Rhonda. She called his name, and he opened his eyes and nodded to her. She smiled at him and told him, 'Don't leave me … 'I'm waiting for you to come back.' He shrugged his shoulders, and she said that's when she knew he was tired. He signaled to her that his body was tired."  "What she (Rhonda) will treasure the most is the fact that she was his wife for 30 years – and not only was she his wife, but she was his best friend. She's going to miss him dearly," Grossett told People.

Former "The Bernie Mac Show" and current "Reno 911!" star Niecy Nash opened up to ET's Kevin Frazier about the loss of her friend Bernie Mac in an interview filmed only hours after Mac's death. "Bernie was not just a 'King of Comedy,'" Niecy said fondly, "He was a king." Nash will star in the new fall sitcom, "Do Not Disturb," on FOX and says that Mac paved the way for her to be able to star in her own series. Mac's case of pneumonia had caused him to be hospitalized recently. The comic actor got his start as a stand-up comedian in Chicago. His semi-autobiographical family-themed sitcom, “The Bernie Mac Show,” about a husband and wife who raise their nieces and nephew, premiered on FOX in 2001 and had a successful five season run. The show garnered Mac two Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations. Mac also appeared on the big screen in such films as ‘Friday,’ the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ series, ‘Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle,’ 'Bad Santa,' 'Guess Who' and ‘Mr. 3000.’ People magazine reported Saturday that a funeral for Mac is scheduled for Friday, August 15. The magazine also reported that the Mac family is requesting donations be made to the Bernie Mac Foundation for Sarcoiditis, 40 E. Ninth St., Suite 601, Chicago, IL, 60605.
