Just in... "The Insider" has confirmed that Oscar winner Morgan Freeman was in a car crash last night at 11:30 near his home town in rural Mississippi and had to be airlifted to Memphis. A spokesman for Med Regional Medical Center in Memphis said the 71-year-old actor's condition was "serious.” We're told by the state trooper the accident happened when his car went off the shoulder of the road and flipped over. It was a one-person car crash and there was no indication that alcohol was involved. The trooper also confirms there was a female passenger in the car with the actor. 'The Dark Knight' star was talking after he was being airlifted from the scene. "The Insider" will have more details as we confirm them.

According to online reports, Freeman was airlifted to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where he is currently receiving treatment.
