In 1978, she sang about losing her heart to a starship trooper. But now it seems Sarah Brightman has found a time machine as well.

Wearing a black Goth-style outfit with thigh-high boots, the 47-year-old singer looked positively youthful as she arrived at the Classical Brit Awards nominations in London on Tuesday night.

Speaking about her looks two weeks ago, Andrew Lloyd Webber's former wife said her only cosmetic surgery had been liposuction in her early twenties and a crown on a chipped front tooth.

She added: "I don't force myself to exercise, I find going to gyms boring. I find it easier to go for a fast walk or a jog. I wear sensible shoes because my ballet dancing left me with a bunion on one foot."

Miss Brightman has sold 26million albums since her split from Lord Lloyd-Webber in 1990.
