Toni Collette was so keen to move into a former fire station in Sydney, Australia's Little Italy district she offered to pay over the odds to buy it. The actress and her musician husband Dave Galafassi paid just over $2 million for the home - $400,000 over the asking price - to become the new owners of the property, so they didn't have to bid for it at a planned auction.
