Double bass player ART DAVIS died of a heart attack in his Long Beach, California home last Sunday (29Jul07). He was 73.The musician - who collaborated with John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong and Bob Dylan during his career as a session musician - was also an acclaimed classical performer, and often played with the Los Angeles
