The 19-year-old country and pop sensation went a long way toward doing just that by winning video of the year and female video of the year for "Love Story" and by performing with one of her favorite rock bands.

Country music superstars Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift will take the stage in Nashville to perform at the CMT Awards and they will be joined by more of your favorite country stars! Toby Keith, and Rascal Flatts have also been announced as part of the first round of performers, the Associated Press says. More performers will be added later, according to the AP The CMT Awards will take place at the Sommet Center in Nashville on June 17 and fans can begin voting April 13 on CMT.com.

Country starlet Taylor Swift has given away her prom dress. According to People magazine, the singer donated her gold and cream Jessica McClintock gown to Hearst Magazines' DonateMyDress.org. The site is a national network that connects dress drive organizations that help get special-occasion gowns to girls who cannot afford them. As for why she chose to sell her dress, Taylor said: "I chose to give away this prom dress because I wore it once and loved it! To keep it around, hanging there all by itself and lonely in my closet, never to be worn again seemed a little pointless. I want another girl somewhere to feel good in it and have a great prom night because of this dress." The star's dress sold for $1,200, says People.
