Nelly Furtado is the latest artist to be signed up to perform at this year's MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas next month, along with Gym Class Heroes and Common. The singer has been nominated for Female Artist of the Year alongside Fergie, Amy Winehouse, Rihanna and Beyonce. She will join the likes of Timbaland, the Foo Fighters and Winehouse who are also due to perform, although Lily Allen has been forced to pull out over US visa problems. Gym Class Heroes have been nominated for Best New Artist and Best New Group.
