Madonna has reportedly offended her son David Banda's biological father by claiming that David would be dead if she had not rescued him. In an interview with Us magazine she said:

"He (David) wouldn't have lived if I hadn't taken him. It's not even a possibility."

Madonna's  is said to have "stunned" Yohane Banda.  A source close to his family told the People newspaper:

"Madonna should choose her words a bit more carefully. To say these things about David's life before she adopted him is just not right."

It's unclear whether Madonna's remark could have an impact at next month's hearing at a Malawian court where an official decision will be made over the adoption case.

If Madonna really made that remark, she should learn to keep her mouth shut about her son's adoption.  Not only does it disrespect the people who were trying to care for her son prior to her going to get him, it puts her in the position of savior to which David will have to grow up to feeling like he has to be forever grateful.  While her son undoubtedly lives in a much more luxurious setting than he did before, she chose to bring him into her family to fulfill her and her family's needs and so she should be the grateful one for that opportunity.  It sounds like a lot of pressure to live up to...poor David.
