Liza Minnelli played the character Sally Bowles, the sexually liberated cabaret singer who painted her fingernails green and performed at the seedy Kit Kat Klub in Berlin during the Weimar Republic. Liza's own life has been something of a cabaret, and her recent well-publicized wedding was a three-ring circus of celebrities from a fading era. Liza Minnelli, the daughter of two of Hollywood's Golden Era's leading personalities, was born famous. Her mother, Judy Garland, is best remembered as Dorothy in 1939's The Wizard of Oz. Liza's father, Vincente Minnelli, won a Best Director Oscar for 1958's Gigi. Liza followed in the footsteps of her singing/dancing/acting mom, and is best remembered for her appearance in 1972's Cabaret, for which she won her own Oscar.

"The Insider" has the latest... Michael Jackson's good friend Liza Minnelli told CBS's "The Early Show" today that she believes the late singer's autopsy results are going to cause quite a stir. "All of us who knew him well really know what he was like," she said. "And I'm sure that now the accolades are going, and I'm sure when the autopsy comes, all hell's going to break loose. So, thank God we're celebrating him now." She went on to say how devastated she is for the loss of her good friend. "He was just a really splendid man," she said. "And a brilliant performer who changed theatrical history. And I will miss him, I cannot tell you."
