A London man has been charged in an alleged attack on singer Leona Lewis.   "The Insider" has learned that Peter Kowalczyk, 29, of South London, was charged with punching Lewis as she signed books at Waterstone’s bookstore in London on Wednesday. Kowalczyk is apparently being held under a mental health act and is due to appear in court on October 26.

Leona Lewis cancelled a visit to Germany today (15.10.09) after being punched in the face by an attacker at a book signing.

The 24-year-old singer had been due to fly out to the European country for a two-day promotional event, but pulled out at the last minute as she is still in shock about the violent episode which took place in London yesterday (14.10.09).
