Kellie Pickler was full of tears during her performance during the CMA Awards on Wednesday night, singing "I Wonder," which is a song about her mother who abandoned her when she was 2 years old.
Cynthia Malone, Kellie's mother, said she was forced to leave her child because of the abusive relationship she was in. She told the Charlotte Observer in July:
"I knew God had to have a purpose for [Kellie] because there was too many times I would have miscarried because of all the hitting and beating on my stomach."

Your performance on CMA awards was great. It made us realize what a great singer and what a great style and voice you have. Your perfomance was very sad but very moving and we truly think you are on your way up to great stardom. Bravo to you and keep up the good work. We will be watching you as you move up. We are Long Island's # 1 Kellie fans.
Kelli is the most down to earth artist I have seen, who is not afraid to let her feelings show. I applaud anyone who has the ability to let their guard down and let the world see what strong emotions are all about!
