R&B star JILL SCOTT is a first-time mother at 36 - she has given birth to a baby boy.The singer/actress welcomed Jett Hamilton Roberts into the world on Monday (20Apr09) with fiance John Roberts by her side.Little Jett weighed in at seven pounds, eight ounces.(3.5 kilograms) at birth.Scott became engaged to Roberts last June (08).

The star of HBO's newest drama, "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency," gave birth to Jett Hamilton Roberts at 4:20 p.m. on April 20, according to People.com. The baby boy weighed 7 lbs, 8 oz. at birth, according to People, which reports that Scott discovered she was pregnant the day she was scheduled to leave for Botswana to film the HBO show. She told the mag: "At one point, I was trying to gain weight for the role, and I noticed I had put on 7 lbs. in seven days. "And I thought, my God! What's going on here? I thought something was wrong with me, and I found out I was pregnant the day I was supposed to leave for Africa." Scott and Roberts, a drummer, have been engaged since last June, People reports.
