Dolly Parton's a good ol' country gal from the smoky hills of Tennessee, who's made good on her career in Nashville, Hollywood and internationally. Her infectious Southern charm and accent are irresistible. Parton first gained national notice hosting her own syndicated television variety show back in the '70s. After a decade as a country star, she crossed over to the mainstream with hits such as "9 to 5" and "Islands In The Stream" during the early '80s. She also starred in several motion pictures, including The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas (1982) and Steel Magnolias (1989).
