Celine Dion has vowed to keep trying for another baby.

The 41-year-old singer and her husband Rene Angelil, 67, were told by doctors in August she was pregnant after undergoing a course of in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment, but days later were told it hadn't worked.

AFP - Canadian singer Celine Dion's pregnancy has ended in a miscarriage, but she and her husband aim to try again to have a second child, her spokeswoman told AFP Wednesday.
Reuters - Singer Celine Dion is not pregnant, despite reports to the contrary from earlier this year, her representatives said on Wednesday.
Celine Dion is said to be "shocked" that her IVF procedure was unsuccessful, but her husband reveals they plan to try again. In an interview with Canadian paper Journal de Montreal [via People.com] Celine's 67-year-old husband René Angélil explained that they believed a previous implantation had worked, but sadly did not. "We are living the reality of the majority of couples who have to use [IVF]. The process can be long and arduous," he said. "But today, we are full of confidence. Celine is more determined than ever." In August, Celine's doctor announced she was pregnant with an embryo that was kept frozen for eight years in liquid nitrogen. "Dr. Zev Rosenwaks believed that the procedure/pregnancy took, but that wasn't the case," René added. "We found out some days later. We were shocked," said Angélil. They quickly tried again to get pregnant, but were unsuccessful, he added, "But you know Céline. She doesn't let go." The couple has an 8-year-old son, who René calls "extraordinary." Through it all, he remains hopeful and inspired by the process. "I admire all the women who go through such a tough process. Since April, she has undergone numerous examinations, multiple hormone injections and blood tests," he told the paper, adding that they are traveling to New York this weekend for another attempt. "Céline and I didn't get discouraged ... we put our faith in life and in the stars."

Celine Dion got pregnant from an embryo frozen eight years ago. The "Think Twice" singer - who is expecting her second child with husband Rene Angelil - conceived the baby through in vitro fertilization (IVF), using a fertilized egg she had harvested when she was trying to conceive her first son Rene-Charles in 2001.

Celine decided to start trying for another baby in 2007 after she completed her residency in Las Vegas and consulted her physician Dr. Zev Rosenwaks.
Celine Dion's doctor is revealing details behind the star's pregnancy, according to a new report. People.com reports that Celine's physician, Dr. Zev Rosenwaks, says the star became pregnant for the second time using an IVF (in vitro fertilization) procedure which involved transferring an embryo that was kept frozen for eight years in liquid nitrogen. Celine, 41, kept the embryo frozen from the time she tried to conceive her first child, René-Charles, says People. She decided to try for a second baby in 2007, Dr. Rosenwaks adds. Rosenwaks, who is the director of the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, tells the mag: “[Celine] is very, very early in her pregnancy.” Dr. Rosenwaks tells People that when he called the star to reveal the good news, "She was very happy. So was René. They are both very thankful."
