According to People, Chace Crawford, who plays hunky Nate Archibald on the CW teen drama Gossip Girl, is the hottest bachelor of the summer. The actor sat down with the magazine to talk about perfect dates, dating Carrie Underwood, made-up gay rumors with co-star Ed Westwick, and why he loves being a bachelor.

Despite winning the season eight "American Idol" title, Kris Allen remains modest about earning enough votes to put him in the same category as such musical successes as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and David Cook. "I feel like Adam deserved it as much as I did," he says just two days after the finale. "Adam was the most consistent person all year. He was seriously one of the most gifted performers I have ever met. He is a great guy. We told each other that day, 'You deserve it.' I think it could have gone either way and America would definitely not have got it wrong." Kris has already cashed in on his new-found fame, immediately filming an "I'm Going to Disneyland" spot.  Next up for the 23-year-old from Conway, AR, is the "American Idol" summer tour and his album. "For me, I felt like I did exactly what I wanted to do on the show and that I would want to do on a record ... maybe stray a little bit," he says. "When I did 'Ain't No Sunshine,' that is what I want to do, stuff that has that feel. [Music that] moves people. I do write my own music, but I don't know if we will be able to use any of that stuff on the first CD." The new "American Idol" says he has been writing songs for about six years or so, despite his initial resistance, because he thought it would be "too hard." "It is the way I express how I feel. I am not a man of many words or very expressive or emotional, but it comes out in my music. That is who I am. I don't know how great I am at it. But the more you do that, especially when you start collaborating with people you get better," he explains. Kris is a newlywed, married eight months to his long-time girlfriend Katy, who he says believes in him and will stand by him through all that is yet to come as a result of his win. "For me, I have been getting ready for this all my life," he says. "I have done a lot of things in my life and I been in a lot of places. Life gets you ready for what is going to happen next. This is everything coming into a culmination of everything I have been through. I don't even know. I think everything is going to be great." According to MTV News, the four-time Grammy winner, 26, will sing this year's farewell song, a cover of Motley Crue's 1985 metal ballad Home Sweet Home, her spokesperson confirmed.

Wednesday was a crushing night for "American Idol" hopeful Alexis Grace when she received the news that she was going home. Not only did it end her dream of becoming the next "American Idol," but by missing the Top 10 by one position, she will not even be a part of this summer's tour. On country night, Alexis chose to sing Dolly Parton's "Jolene." Judge Simon Cowell felt the song was too sound alike without a drop of originality. "I think it is one of those performances we will forget about in 10 minutes time," he added. Apparently he was on the money, since America voted and Alexis received the lowest number of votes. "I did consider doing a Carrie Underwood song, but there were already two other people singing Carrie Underwood," the 21-year-old from Memphis, TN tells ET. "I thought it would be too much Carrie Underwood in one night, so then I went with 'Jolene.' It is a really beautiful song. I love the lyrics and I love the singer." Being from Tennessee, Alexis says she feels like she let her state down to be ousted on country night, but she hopes to redeem herself in the near future. Now that her time on "Idol" has come to an end, she will be heading back home to spend some time with her family. "Being away from my daughter was tough," says the single mom. "I went from being a stay-at-home mom and being with her every day to not seeing her at all -- not hardly talking to her." When it comes to the future, Alexis says she is going to keep working on her dream of a music career -- at least until she is 50. And she is going to keep her edgy look, which she thinks was partially responsible for getting her into the Top 11, although she may switch up the pink highlights. "I learned that if you want to do anything in life, if you want to pursue a dream, you have to work hard at it and believe in yourself," she says.

As "Idol" hopefuls find out they've been sent home this season on "American Idol," they'll be listening to "Idol" champ Carrie Underwood. "The Insider" has learned that Carrie's remake of Mötley Crüe's "Home Sweet Home" will be the new farewell song played on the weekly results show after a contestant gets the bad news that he or she has been sent home. Other songs played during the contestants' farewell include Daniel Powter's "Bad Day," Ruben Studdard's rendition of "Celebrate Me Home," and Daughtry's "Home." Carrie's "Home Sweet Home" will debut on "Idol"'s elimination show this Wednesday. The song will be available for download through iTunes until March 16 and through retailers after that. A portion of the song's proceeds will go to The Humane Society of the United States, a cause close to Carrie's heart. You can catch "American Idol" Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. and Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. on FOX.

Former "American Idol" stars Carrie Underwood and Diana DeGarmo took a moment at Wednesday night's Country Music Awards to reflect on Paula Goodspeed, the "Idol" hopeful who apparently committed suicide near judge Paula Abdul's house Tuesday night. I think that's just a terrible, terrible tragedy and I feel for the person that was out in front of her home, for her family, and especially for Paula, because she's a lovely person and I can only imagine what she's going through." Runner-up Diana also performed in the same "American Idol" season with Jennifer Hudson, and says that although she has not spoken with Jennifer since her tragedy, "She's definitely in my thoughts and prayers like she always is, but even more so.
