Fans of Avril Lavigne were pissed on Wednesday night, April 30, 2008 when they arrived at Cox Arena in San Diego only to find out that she had quietly canceled the concert.  Apparently, Avril's U.S. tour hasn't been going so well with poor ticket sales and earlier in the day, she called in sick with laryngitis, causing promoters to cancel the show.

However, Avril's management as well as the promoters failed to let ticket holders know, which caused thousands to make the journey to San Diego only to then find out tha the gig wasn't going to happen.

Avril has since posted a statement on her official website apologizing to fans, promising to reschedule a performance.

While no one can help it if Avril was really sick, her management should've made every effort to get the word out through Ticketmaster emailing their customers, announcing it on the radio, etc.  That sucks for people who had to travel a distance for the show and waste their time but it's not really too surprising that it was one of Avril's shows that this happened for.  She has been known to show up really late with a real disregard for her fans and I'm always surprised she still has any left.
