She has done a variety of work for Portugal's leading media companies such as RTP, SIC, Radio Comercial, and Antena 3, as a host, interviewer, actress, and spokesperson. She represents Portugal as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations. Awarded the prestigious Ordem de Mérito (Grau Comendador), one of Portuguese's highest honors, by President Jorge Sampaio on June 10th 2005. She's a Tv host. Parents: Helena and Joaquim Furtado. Has a sister named Marta. Catarina and husband, actor João Reis, are parents of a girl named Maria Beatriz (b.May 25th 2006 in Cruz Vermelha Hospital, Lisbon). Catarina has a stepdaughter (Maria) from João previous relation and a stepson (Francisco) from João relation to actress Joana Seixas. She wrote, produced and presented some radio programs. She has a dance course from Escola de Dança do Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa (1990). In 1991 she studied in CENJOR school, a school that forms journalists.
