Graduated from Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut, Class of 1990
His mother named him after Paul Newman's unstoppable rebel character in "Cool Hand Luke," which turned out to be one of his all-time favorite movies.
WideAwake, Inc., his production company, is named after his favorite student film he made at the USC Film School. The student film's soundtrack was to U2's "Bad," which contains the lyrics, "I'm Wide Awake."
His favorite all-time band is U2. He continues to write all of his movies to their music. At one point, "The Girl Next Door" contained three U2 songs: "In a Little While," "Bad," and "One Tree Hill."
Is Ashkenazi but does not attend synagogue
