Studied film at State University of New York at Purchase, where he met Robert John Burke who later starred in The Unbelievable Truth.
At the same time, SUNY/Purchase was being attended by film actors Wesley Snipes (Demolition Man, Rising Sun), Steven Weber (Single White Female, Wings), Todd Graff and Stanley Tucci.
Was able to make The Unbelievable Truth because a local bank was offering an "unbelievably" low interest rate on $10,000 loans. So, he and a number of friends all went in and got one.
