Sir Paul McCartney mesmerized over 200,000 fans in Quebec City with his tunes from the Beatles, Wings, and more recent hits, addressing the crowd in French and English, apologizing for his limited French.

Before the show

Some very dedicated fans started lining up in the early afternoon on Saturday, enduring the pouring rain and sleeping overnight in sleeping bags and chairs. However, most fans arrived in the afternoon on Sunday.  The concert organizers failed to properly prepare for an event of this size as there weren't enough security, portable bathrooms, and garbage cans.  It was scary when the officials opened the gates and many raced towards the stage.  I was terrified someone would be badly injured or killed.  Luckily, there were no reported deaths or serious injuries, but the event organizers were rather incompetent.

Quebec's 400th birthday celebration

Quebeckers and the rest of the crowd went wild when the former Beatle greeted everyone:

"Bonsoir les Quebecois"

While Paul played many of his standards, the crowd went crazy when he treated fans to Michelle, Fine Line, and Too Many People / Bathroom Window.  I especially enjoyed: Mrs Vanderbilt and Birthday which were also played at his concert in Kiev, Ukraine on June 14th. Check out how great Paul and his band sounded during the Extra Afro "Birthday" Rehearsal for Quebec. Doesn't he look cute in the Afro wig?

Overall, I had the time of my life in Quebec at the show and met so many nice people who traveled from all over to see Paul help Quebec celebrate their 400th birthday.
