Country singer At 13, scored her first charted single on Billboard magazine's country singles chart with "Delta Dawn" (1972). Was discovered by Billy Sherrill, who gave her "Delta Dawn". Other No. 1 hits in her career included "Blood Red and Goin' Down" (1973); "Would You Lay with Me (In a Field of Stone)" (1974); "Lizzie and the Rainman" and "San Antonio Stroll" (1975); "Here's Some Love" (1976); "Just Another Love" (1986); "I Won't Take Less than Your Love" (1988, with Paul Davis and Paul Overstreet); "If it Don't Come Easy" and "Strong Enough to Bend" (also 1988); and "Two Sparrows in a Hurricane" (1992). Dated fellow country singer Glen Campbell briefly in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Daughter Layla born 1999. Suffered from depression.
