Stephanie Anderson news'the Biggest Loser''s Sunshine Hampton Has Never Had A Date Or A Boyfriend
Tuesday night, "The Biggest Loser" announced the final four: Ashley Johnston, Daris George, Koli Palu and Michael Ventrella, which meant that 24-year-old SunShine Hampton lost her spot on the ranch when she fell below the red line and was immediately sent packing. "It is a bummer not to make the final four," she tells ET, "but that whole week was a big week of reflection for me, seeing that I can do it at home. I can go for the at-home prize, but I have already won the big prize. I would take my health over $100,000 or $250,000 any day. I went with peace. I knew that I was going to be fine." SunShine, who with her father O'Neal Hampton has had a tricky journey on this season's "The Biggest Loser" -- she and her dad were kicked off the ranch the first day and were only able to earn their way back weeks later -- has nevertheless managed to lose 113 pounds. And she says that being a part of makeover week last week was a big turning point for her. "It was the first week my dad was gone. I was a new person. I really saw the SunShine I had been waiting to see. That no one else knew was there. It radiated through when I did my makeover. It was very important for me to get that boost of confidence and for someone to tell me how wonderful I looked and me believe it," she says. The new SunShine is also hoping to start dating. At 24, she says before "The Biggest Loser," she had never been on a date or had a boyfriend, a similar story to her fellow contestant Daris. But she says there was nothing going on with the two of them, unlike the romance that sprung up between Sam Poueu and Stephanie Anderson. "Now, I get a lot of Facebook , saying, 'I will date you," she shares. "It is weird to get that kind of attention now. I am not used to it." Her health isn't the only prize that SunShine took home. She also has a 2010 Mazda 3 in the driveway courtesy of her father, who won it during a challenge. "It is fantastic," she tells ET. "I got my own color. I almost knocked my dad over when he won the car. I ran back and gave him a big hug and jumped on him. I couldn't believe my dad gave me the car. Then for Mother's Day, I gave my mother my old car." It was right around the time that O'Neal won the car that SunShine realized she needed to have a heart-to-heart conversation with her dad. She and trainer Jillian Michaels had been discussing the journey that SunShine had to make and the fact that she should do it parallel to her father, not deferring to him. "I was scared to tell my dad what Jillian and I had talked about," she says. "I didn't want him to think that I was backing away from him by telling him that I was going to be okay. I didn't want him to feel that he failed me, or that I was trying to leave him. I was so scared to tell my dad, but once I did and got everything out on the table, he told me, 'SunShine, I was holding on to you because I knew you were not ready. Now I can let you go.' For my dad to say that … I am getting chills right now just reliving the moment. I always thought I would break his heart and he would be, 'Why are you leaving me?' He was, 'I knew [that you could do it] all along. I was just waiting for you to realize it yourself.'" You would think with everything that has happened for SunShine since joining "The Biggest Loser," that there couldn't be anything to top it, but there was one more thing she had always dreamed of doing -- and "The Biggest Loser" made her dream come true. "I am a huge Twins fan, so it has always been one of my dreams to go to the new Target Field," she tells ET. "The show was able to get me to throw out the first pitch. My brothers all worked with me. I have all brothers. They were, 'You are not going to throw it like a girl. You are going to make it there.' So I had practiced tons and I had it down, but when I got out there, I didn't quite make it all the way, but it was so fun." "The Biggest Loser" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.[Read full story on The Insider]
