Her brother, Jourdan Lee Khoo, is also an actor/writer. She was stranded in the jungles of Guatemala on an overland expedition by jeep when she was called to cast for Jackie Chan's "First Strike" shot in Australia. Her father enrolled at UCLA's film school to study being a director but ended up studying business in Australia due to pressures from grandpa. Her mum is a dedicated nursing sister and believes in recycling and clean energy environments. She read C.S. Lewis incessantly as a child. Her favorite authors also include Samael Aun Weor, Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov, Joseph Campbell, Carlos Castaneda, Paolo Coelho, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Kahlil Gibran, Gurdjieff, Han Su Yin, Carl Jung, Rudyard Kipling, Sogyal Rinpoche and Sai Baba. She graduated from Edith Cowan University with a Degree in Economics and Commerce.
