AFP - The US Army plans to restrict media coverage of an appearance by Sarah Palin at a military base to prevent the event from turning into a political protest against President Barack Obama, officials said.
AP - The U.S. Army will allow the media limited coverage of Sarah Palin's appearance at Fort Bragg, but will bar reporters from interviewing her or her supporters on the post, officials said Thursday.

Levi Johnston buttoned up Wednesday night in Hollywood after stripping down for Playgirl. The dapper dad of Sarah Palin's grandson Tripp was the man about town, striking poses as cameras flashed on the red carpet of GQ's "Men of the Year" Party at Chateau Marmont. "The Insider"'s Chris Jacobs rode with him to the event. Just before exiting the vehicle, Levi told Chris, "I'm getting used to cameras. It's been about a year now. You go out there, have fun with it, smile, and mingle with the cameras." Levi has been in front of a lot of cameras lately. Recalling his recent experience posing for Playgirl, he said, "I have no regrets." He thinks the photos "turned out great. My body wasn't where I would have liked it to have been," but he said he worked as hard as he could to tone up in just two months of preparation. Calling son Tripp "the best thing that ever happened to me," the young father cannot predict at this point whether he would advise his son to pose for Playgirl or to stray from it when he is grown. He told "The Insider," "That's going to be his decision. I'm not going to make it for him. I think I'll give my advice. We'll see what happens to me, whether it was the right decision or a bad one. AFP - Sarah Palin dropped a heavy hint Tuesday that she might seek to run for the White House in 2012 as champion of America's Republican right.
Following her interview with Oprah Winfrey on Monday, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin continues to promote her book, sitting down with Barbara Walters to set the record straight about claims made by Levi Johnston that her marriage is on the rocks and that she called her youngest child Trig a derogatory term. Johnston, 19, claimed on "The Early Show" last month that Palin had called Trig, who is afflicted with Down syndrome, "retarded." "That's heartbreaking to know that that he would say such a thing and that's not true," she tells Walters, who aired her interview with Palin on "Good Morning America." Johnston -- the father to Palin's grandchild Tripp -- has also told media outlets that he thinks the former Alaska governor and her husband Todd will divorce. Palin reacts, "We remain a solid, blessed couple." Walters addresses Johnston's claims that Palin did not mention him in her book Going Rogue: The American Life because she feared what information he had on her. "He doesn't have anything on me," Palin says of Johnston's remarks. The former VP hopeful believes it's a "good sign" that Johnston has said he is going to court to get joint custody of his son Tripp. "It will be nice to see a desire to be a part of the baby's life."

AFP - Sarah Palin, queen of the Republican right, starred Monday with TV talk queen Oprah Winfrey at the start of a frenzied book tour -- and, some believe, an unlikely White House challenge.
AP - Sarah Palin said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that it's heartbreaking to see the road that Levi Johnston, the father of her grandson, has taken and that the soon-to-be Playgirl model hasn't seen his baby in awhile.
AP - Sarah Palin wouldn't reveal her political plans for 2012 in an interview with Barbara Walters, but when asked whether she'd play a major role replied that "if people will have me, I will."

Former republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin went rogue with Oprah Winfrey, ing on Levi Johnston's new-found fame, her time on the campaign trail with a pregnant teenage daughter and how she feels in hindsight about the infamous Kate Couric interview. Palin appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Monday to promote her already bestselling book Going Rogue: An American Life. She opened up about the father of her grandson who has publicly bashed her, saying that Levi's "aspiring porn" career -- referring to his deal with Playgirl magazine -- is a "bit heartbreaking." "I believe he goes by the name Ricky Hollywood now," she jokes to Oprah. "He's quite busy with media tours. ... That's Levi's gig right now." Regardless of their differences, Palin says she realizes Levi is still a teenager and that he will "forever be the father of this beautiful baby," her grandson Tripp. As for Bristol, Palin says that her daughter was "devastated" and "embarrassed" when the media got word that she was pregnant. "I was naive to think that the media would leave my kids alone," Palin says, reflecting on her time on the campaign trail. She recalls that she never wanted her daughter's pregnancy to be "glamorized." Another memorable moment as a VP hopeful was Palin's interviews with CBS anchor Katie Couric, who Palin refers to as "the perky one."  The former Alaska governor says that during those interviews she was "annoyed" and felt that her words would be twisted no matter what. "Her agenda was not necessarily to show me in the best of light," Palin says of Couric. "If people only know me from that interview, I don't blame them." Palin's new tell-all book Going Rogue: An American Life hits bookshelves Nov. 17.

Before Oprah's highly anticipated sit-down with Sarah Palin on Monday, Barbara Walters is releasing clips of her own upcoming interview with the former Alaska governor. Palin tells Walters she didn’t realize her teenage daughter Bristol was sexually active, so she was stunned to learn that her daughter and Levi Johnston were expecting a child. “That’s why I was shocked,” Palin says. “Truthfully, we were devastated.” The former VP hopeful had accepted the offer to become John McCain's running mate just a few days earlier. Bristol and Levi’s son Tripp arrived last December. Walters' full interview with Palin is a five-part series of ABC News interviews which begin airing on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, Nov. 17. Meanwhile, Palin’s sit-down with Oprah takes place on Monday, Nov. 16.
