Daughter of Gary Lockwood and Denise DuBarry.

Real family name is Yurosek. From a family of carrot growers started in California by Samantha's grandfather John Yurosek. Her father actor Gary Lockwood changed his name from John Gary Yurosek for the screen. He took on the last name Lockwood after he got his first job as an actor by director Joshua Logan Lockwood. Gary thought no one would be able to pronounce his maiden name when listed in the credits, that's why the name was changed. Samantha is now coincidentally dear friends with Joshua Logan Lockwood's descendant Billy Lockwood, also an actor, and currently filming Wild Hogs (2007) starring John Travolta.
