Her first appearance on "EastEnders" (1985) was on the 21 December 1993. Presented the St. John Ambulance Young First Aider of the year awards in 2001. She trained at The Anna Scher Theatre School. Released a fitness DVD entitled Then and Now Workout (2007) (V) at the end of 2007, which became the fastest selling weight-loss DVD ever in Britain. Was in attendance at the funeral of her former "EastEnders" (1985) co-star Wendy Richard (9 March 2009). Has moved into the home of John Burns, the widower of 'Wendy Richard' (April 2009). Performed in the stage production of "Gertrude's Secret" at The Oxford Playhouse (August 2008). Participated in a UK tour of "Bedroom Farce" (May-August 2007). Is in a relationship with Adam Cotrell, a transport manager from Bristol (June 2009). A close family friend is Paul O'Grady, whom she refers to as her "uncle". Participated in the seventh series of "Strictly Come Dancing" (2004) in 2009, partnered with professional dancer Vincent Simone, coming fifth out of sixteen celebrities. Became good friends with Zoe Lucker after they competed together on "Strictly Come Dancing" (2004).
