Tennis player who was ranked number one in the world at the end of 1991, 1992 and 1995. She won 9 grand slam titles and 44 other tournaments. She didn't officially retire although she has not played since 2003, in May, when she lost in the first round of Roland Garros. She is of Hungarian descent. Has an older brother, Zoltan. Elected into the Tennis Hall of Fame in 2009. Became a naturalized US citizen in 1994.
