Country singer. Had a secret affair with actor/U.S. Senator Fred Dalton Thompson (R-Tenn). Dated Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman (1993). Two children, Morgan Anastasia Gaddis (from her first husband), and Jesse Keith Whitley (her second husband, Keith Whitley). Her second husband, Keith Whitley, died of alcohol poisoning in 1989, before her singing career took off. Close friend of Ralph Emery. At the end of 2003, she and her husband, singer Sammy Kershaw, filed for divorce. The split apparently became violent and they took restraining orders out on each other. By July 2004, the couple were back together. On her July 5 appearance on "Larry King Live" (1985), she discussed the split, explaining that interference from outsiders put a lot of strain on their relationship but they pulled through and would remain a couple.
